The last six days have been a whirlwind for Twin of Twinsmember, Patrick Gaynor aka Curly Lox. However, the comedian turned deejay now offers an explanation for the duo’s poor showing at STING 2011.

The Twins looked off-key during their highly anticipated clash against selector turned deejay, Tony Matterhorn at the 28th staging of the popular Dancehall show. Often restarting during the clash, Matterhorn took advantage of the Twin of Twins missteps in the eyes of STING fans and industry players alike.

However, three days following the clash, Gaynor has intimated that a nasal congestion developed prior to STING 2011, in part, due to a hectic schedule as the duo performed at Diamond Splash in Negril on December 23 and the GT Taylor Christmas Extravaganza on December 25. Given his disappointing showing on Boxing Day, Gaynor apologized to the comedic duo’s fans for not performing up to expectation.

“Mi reach STING, I am not a drinker and I don’t smoke but mi drink a Magnum on an empty stomach and then earlier mi did tek the medication. It just get worse on stage. Da terrible feeling deh, mi did feel nauseous and dizzy. Right now mi apologize to mi fans,” Gaynor told the Jamaica STAR.

He continued, “My fans know that I am more than capable of bringing out the total defamation of ‘Chatterhorn’. So, I am sorry for the disappointment that my action caused. There are a lot of other elements that contributed to the end result. There was a whole heap of manipulation behind the scene but mi nuh ready fi seh yet.”

As a result, Gaynor claims that the Twins clash with Matterhorn never happened; insisting he would have easily defeated the Dancehall Duppy singer at full strength.

“The clash never happened. If I was incapacitated there was no clash. I took myself out, he didn’t take me out. In my mind, I did the wrong thing. You can’t seh you lose when sup’m neva happen,” he said.

With that in mind, Gaynor wants a rematch with Matterhorn, if the prominent selector shows a willingness to do so.

“Mi ago kill him mek the whole world see. Da day deh mi not even a drink water. Mi ready fi a rematch any time. It was my irresponsibility that caused the clash not to manifest. I would concede defeat if there was one,” he said.

Following the Twins clash with Matterhorn, Curly Lox was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and indecent language by the St. Catherine South Police. The comedian turned deejay has since been released on bail and faces a January court date to answer said charges.

However, Gaynor felts singled out by police given that all the other clashes on the night were filled with indecent language.

“Every other clash was, laden with bad words and expletives but only one person was arrested. How mi alone get singled out and arrested?” he asked.
